This is a very nice, complete set of maple Ludwig & Ludwig drums from the
1930's. They are black with a gold band going around the
center of the drum shell. In some of the pictures, the camera flash
makes this band look like a gold spot, but it is not.
- Bass drum - 16" />
- Small Tom - 13 1/4" across x 9 1/2" high
- Big Tom - 14 1/4" across x 12 1/2" high
- Snare - 14 1/2" x 8" high
- The hi-hat cymbals are marked Ludwig and are 10" in diameter
- Small cymbal is marked Zildjian Avedis and has a crack in it, though it is really more a separation about 3/4 towards the center of the cymbal where the spun brass has become separated for about 2 1/2 inches, I'm sure this could be repaired. Measures 9 1/2" in diameter.
- Thin crash cymbal measures 12 1/4" in diameter and seems to be a slightly mis-shapen, otherwise in excellent condition, marked Stanople with a sabre trademark and another word, which is foreign to me, just under that.
- Original cowbells and wood block.
- Assorted sticks and brushes.
- Soft drum cases. Bass drum kick pedal has a crack as seen in the photo, but seems to be functioning just fine. Sound EXCELLENT. All heads look to be original except for the snare and it will require a new bottom head as the one on it currently is damaged.
All hardware is marked Ludwig, except for the pedal on the hi-hat, which is marked Pelham. Original keys for the two toms and the snare are all present, the two toms each have a key holder on the outside of the shell which the key clips to, the snare does not appear to, but again the key is present. Overall, this set is in unbelievably good condition for its age and was purchased by me from the original owner. Also includes soft drum cases, two of which are original and the bass and snare drums have replacement cases.
Throne in photos is homemade and very heavy, and not included. However, if you contact us for a local pickup or we choose to special deliver these drums then you would certainly be welcome to the throne as well.
