This is a very nice, desirable Panasonic 8 track player/recorder. The unit sounds great and everything seems to be working fine, however I do not have a tape to test the record function. I am not completely familiar with the operation of this unit, and while I think everything is functioning perfectly, I will mention that the higher that you set the output levels the unit goes into some type of feedback, when the output levels are set lower it sounds excellent and you can play it through your stereo as loud as you like. It seems to be the left output control that has the overwhelming feedback effect to it. I suspect this to be completely normal, but I am not sure.
